Our family-run home in the heart of this thriving town has so much to offer residents, their friends and family members, and staff too. We have been providing high-quality care since 2003, with most of our residents being local to the Banbury area.

Yes, we assess changes in residents eating habits and when there is cause for concern the local SALT department visit the residents concerned and advise what is required. A hairdresser visits every week, a chiropodist every 6 weeks and communions are held once a month. Eye tests can be conducted in the home and visits to the dentist can be arranged. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities & interact with other residents, but resident’s preferences are always respected.
The home has recently been extended by the acquisition of the property next door, and there are plans to upgrade the original building. The home has good access to the main shopping area, churches, bus and rail stations, library, hospital and doctors` surgeries. The accommodation is spread over three floors, served by two passenger lifts. The home is registered to provide accommodation for 40 people, and the accommodation is arranged in 28 single rooms and 6 double rooms. There are small garden areas at the front of the building and a central garden area. Specialist teams are on hand day and night to provide emotional and practical support to our residents, making sure they feel completely at home in their environment.

My 97-year-old nanna has come on leaps and bounds since coming to the care home in 2020. One lady has been amazing in setting up initially facetime over the portal and then visits.

Brooklands offers residents an experience tailored specifically to their needs. Our chef teams use great ingredients to provide freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced meals based on regularly changing, seasonal menus. We make mealtimes an occasion for our residents, enabling them to enjoy their food in welcoming surroundings and catered for by our care teams. Residents always have multiple options to choose from at all meal times and can opt for something different if they change their minds when the food arrives. Brooklands provided a caring, friendly and safe environment from day one.
She also said if she goes into respite care again it would make her feel better if she is able to go to Brooklands again, as they made her feel safe, comfortable and very caring. Brooklands is 45 beds purpose build care home registered with CQC for residential and nursing care. We strongly believe in the importance of maintaining personal health and wellbeing here at Alexandra care home, which is why we offer our residents activities to stimulate the mind and body. All our staff re-train every year in dementia to keep our knowledge up to date to ensure we provide the best care. Lunch is finished with delicious desserts, all prepared on-site by our chef teams. Compared to when she was at home she seems to have improved greatly in conversation, sense of humour and concentration. She seems to be extremely happy with her place and is clean and well cared for. Yes, we have access to GPs at all times and for emergencies, we have a Hospital close by ambulance. If not, there are several good GP practices nearby where some of our residents are registered. As long as the practice you are registered with is happy to travel to the nursing home it is possible to keep your GP.
Activities are planned and actioned through our Activities Co-ordinator; a 4 weekly plan is available. Our cooks work on alternate days preparing and providing meals to our residents 3 times a day to meet each individual’s dietary needs. We make sure our residents start the day right with a filling breakfast including cereals, fruit, toast and porridge, plus a daily changing choice of hot options. Our Residents are welcome to have breakfast any time they desire, and we are happy to accommodate their morning schedule. Even when visits proved impossible the staff always managed to maintain regular communication both in terms of mum’s condition and also to facilitate video calls on a very regular basis with mum.
